Launching in Easter 2026…

We’re often asked how our young musicians can meet others, collaborate and take their playing beyond the teaching room… so in 2026 we’re launching something brand new.

LaunchPad Live is a 2-day easter holiday workshop where young players come together to form bands, write original material, rehearse, record and perform live - all with guidance from PMA’s industry-active tutors.

It’s the perfect next step for students who are ready to grow, create and get on stage.

Workshops faq

How old do I need to be? PMA Holiday Workshops are for 8-16 year-olds.

Do I need to play an instrument? Yes, unless you are a singer.

How much experience do I need? Band members need at least 1 year of tuition on their instrument before the workshop to ensure that they are ready to play in a band.

Who will I be in a band with? We put bands together according to age, experience and interests. If you want to be in a band with a friend, make sure you let us know when you sign up.

How many members and what instruments will be in my band? A typical workshop band has 4 members, with drums, guitar, keys, bass and vocals. As every workshop is a unique combination of young musicians, we encourage players to be flexible and be willing to try out a second instrument if necessary.

What songs will we play? Bands choose whether to learn classic covers or write original songs. If you choose to do covers, you will be able to suggest songs that you would like to learn.
